FAQ
How do I make a custom skin?
Paint on the canvas above, check the 3D preview, download the PNG, and upload it at minecraft.net/profile.
Is it free?
Yes. It runs in the browser with no account and no install.
Does it work for Java Edition?
Yes. Output is a standard 64×64 PNG. You can import older 64×32 skins too.
Can I edit a skin I already have?
Click Import and upload the PNG. Edit it, then download the new file.
What are the overlay layers?
The hat, jacket, sleeves, and pants toggles control the second layer on a 64×64 skin — the parts that sit slightly outside the base model.
Will my skin show on multiplayer?
Once it is on your Minecraft profile, other Java Edition players can see it on any server. AleForge hosts Java servers if you need one for your group.
Need a server?
AleForge hosts Minecraft Java Edition servers — mods, plugins, backups, and DDoS protection included. Handy if you want a persistent world for your group after finishing a skin.
