Where does PalWorldSettings.ini go on a dedicated server?
-
Linux
Pal/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/PalWorldSettings.ini
-
Windows
Pal/Saved/Config/WindowsServer/PalWorldSettings.ini
-
Mac
Pal/Saved/Config/MacServer/PalWorldSettings.ini
Replace the OptionSettings line and restart the server.
Why don't my settings changes apply?
Usually the server was not restarted, the
OptionSettings line has a syntax error, or you edited
DefaultPalWorldSettings.ini instead of
PalWorldSettings.ini. A bad comma or quote makes the
game fall back to defaults without an error.
What do the Difficulty presets do?
Casual, Normal, and Hard apply
the game's bundled tuning. With Difficulty=None, the
server uses your individual rate settings. Set None if you are
changing ExpRate, capture rate, or damage multipliers.
What should egg hatching time be?
PalEggDefaultHatchingTime is in hours for the largest
eggs. Smaller eggs hatch faster. Default is 1. Breeding servers
often use 0. Co-op servers commonly use 0.5.
Which settings affect server performance?
PalSpawnNumRate, BaseCampMaxNumInGuild,
BaseCampWorkerMaxNum, and DropItemMaxNum
have the biggest impact. They control how much the server simulates
even when no one is online. For a RAM estimate based on your setup,
use the
RAM calculator.
