Best workers for each base job, ranked from the 1.0 files. Twelve jobs, top 10 each. Click a name to see breeding combos.
Higher work levels finish faster. Kindling 8 and Kindling 3 are not close. Furnaces, benches, and ore nodes all notice. These lists are base levels only, across 299 Pals (dataset v26).
Jump to a job, pick who you want, open their breeding page for parents. Building a full crew? The base builder shows which of the twelve jobs you’re still missing.
Base work levels only. Artisan and Condenser make them faster, but they don’t change who sits at #1 on this page.
Don’t park twenty of the same Handiwork Pal and call it a base. Fill empty jobs first. Upgrade the slow ones after.
Missing Kindling or Transporting and nothing moves. Check the base builder for empty jobs, then come back here for who to put in them.
Every name links to its breeding page. Already have parents? Use reverse lookup on the breeding calculator.
Get the right species first. Then stack work-speed passives and Condenser ranks. The level on this chart is what you start with.
Full crews keep running while you’re offline. Use the
RAM calculator
and tweak
BaseCampWorkerMaxNum in the
settings generator
if you’re running a few packed bases.
Workers keep going after you log off. Host on a box that stays up,
with file manager for saves and panel access to
PalWorldSettings.ini.

Work levels, Anubis, and why your server gets slow.
Which base jobs a Pal can do, and how fast. There are 12 of them: Kindling, Handiwork, Mining, Transporting, and so on. Higher levels finish work a lot quicker. One Handiwork 6 will out-craft a pile of Handiwork 2s.
The 1.0 game files (dataset v26, checked 2026-07-15). Sorted by base work level only. Artisan, Condenser ranks, and food make them faster, but they don’t change who ranks #1 here.
Start with a high work level species, then breed on work-speed passives and pump Condenser ranks. Food helps too. Use the breeding calculator if you need parent combos for whoever tops the job you care about.
Anubis. Handiwork 6, decent Mining and Transporting, and you can breed it from a ton of pairs. Run one or two generalists, fill the rest with the job specialists on this page, and keep a nocturnal Pal so nights aren’t dead time.
Yes, sometimes worse than player count. Workers and farms keep simulating with nobody online. Full crews on a few bases? Check the RAM calculator and lower worker caps in the settings generator if things get heavy.
Same work levels. This page is “who’s best at each job.” The Base Builder is “here’s my crew, what’s still empty.”
File manager, save uploads, and a box that stays online while workers keep crafting. Paste your settings and fill the base.
