Do You Support X Modpack?
Modpack Support Through the Depot
Section titled “Modpack Support Through the Depot”We try to support as many modpacks as possible. Our Depot installer can download modpacks directly from CurseForge and Modrinth in a single click, no manual downloading, unzipping, or file uploads required.

How to Tell If a Modpack Is Supported
Section titled “How to Tell If a Modpack Is Supported”The best way to check if a modpack works with the Depot is to look for a server pack. A server pack is a stripped-down version of the modpack that includes only the mods needed to run the server, with client-only mods (like resource pack loaders, shader support, and UI mods) already removed. Most actively maintained modpacks on CurseForge and Modrinth publish one alongside the regular pack.
- If a server pack exists, the Depot can install it directly. Search for the modpack in the Depot, and if it shows up, you’re good to go.
- If a server pack does not exist, you have two options:
- Choose a different modpack that does have one, if you’re flexible about which pack you play.
- Build your own server pack. Download the full modpack, remove every client-only mod, and package the rest into a
mods.zipfile. See our guide on creating a custom modpack server for step-by-step instructions on telling client and server mods apart.
Why Some Modpacks Don’t Have a Server Pack
Section titled “Why Some Modpacks Don’t Have a Server Pack”Not every modpack author publishes one. This is most common with:
- Small or newly published modpacks that haven’t been updated in a while
- Very old modpacks that predate server packs becoming a common practice
If your favorite modpack falls into one of these categories, building your own server pack is usually quick, especially for smaller packs with only a handful of client-only mods to remove.
