How to Upload a Map or World to your 7 Days to Die server
Bring a save from single-player, another host, or an old backup by copying the save folder to the server and pointing Startup at the right world name.
Locate your single-player save
Section titled “Locate your single-player save”On Windows:
- Open File Explorer
- Enter
%appdata%\7DaysToDiein the address bar - Open
Saves→ find the folder for your world - Zip the world folder to speed up upload (right-click →
Send to→Compressed folder)
Note the game world name (Navezgane, RWG, etc.) and game name (save name) — you need both on Startup later.
Upload the save to your server
Section titled “Upload the save to your server”- Open the AleForge Panel
- Stop the server
- Open
File Manager - Go to
.local/share/7DaysToDie/Saves/ - Upload your
.zipfile - Right-click →
Unarchive - Confirm the extracted folder name matches what you want for
World Name
If the save used RWG, you may also need files in .local/share/7DaysToDie/GeneratedWorlds/. See Upload a generated world for that case.
Point the server at the save
Section titled “Point the server at the save”- Open
Startup - Set
World Map(GameWorld) to match the save —Navezgane,RWG, etc. - Set
World Name(GameName) to the save folder name - For RWG saves, match
World Gen SeedandWorld Map Sizeto the original values - Save and start the server
Wrong seed or map type on an RWG save will not load correctly.
Mods on uploaded worlds
Section titled “Mods on uploaded worlds”If the save was played with mods, install the same mods on the server before starting. Removing world-gen mods requires a new world.
