How to Upload a Map or World to your 7 Days to Die server

Bring a save from single-player, another host, or an old backup by copying the save folder to the server and pointing Startup at the right world name.

On Windows:

  1. Open File Explorer
  2. Enter %appdata%\7DaysToDie in the address bar
  3. Open Saves → find the folder for your world
  4. Zip the world folder to speed up upload (right-click → Send toCompressed folder)

Note the game world name (Navezgane, RWG, etc.) and game name (save name) — you need both on Startup later.

  1. Open the AleForge Panel
  2. Stop the server
  3. Open File Manager
  4. Go to .local/share/7DaysToDie/Saves/
  5. Upload your .zip file
  6. Right-click → Unarchive
  7. Confirm the extracted folder name matches what you want for World Name

If the save used RWG, you may also need files in .local/share/7DaysToDie/GeneratedWorlds/. See Upload a generated world for that case.

  1. Open Startup
  2. Set World Map (GameWorld) to match the save — Navezgane, RWG, etc.
  3. Set World Name (GameName) to the save folder name
  4. For RWG saves, match World Gen Seed and World Map Size to the original values
  5. Save and start the server

Wrong seed or map type on an RWG save will not load correctly.

If the save was played with mods, install the same mods on the server before starting. Removing world-gen mods requires a new world.
