How do I upload or reset a world on my RuneScape: Dragonwilds server?

The dedicated server starts the newest .sav in RSDragonwilds/Saved/SaveGames (sometimes shown as Savegames). If that folder is empty, Jagex creates a default Standard world using Default World Name. Changing Default World Name does not switch an existing save.

Caution

Stop the server. Take a panel Backups snapshot before you delete or replace worlds. Empty the save folder, then upload one .sav. Do not drop a second save next to the default world and expect the name field to pick it.

Find a local world

On Windows, local saves are:

%LOCALAPPDATA%\RSDragonwilds\Saved\SaveGames

That expands to C:\Users\<your-user>\AppData\Local\RSDragonwilds\Saved\SaveGames. Use Date Modified if you have several .sav files.

To host a Custom or Creative world, create it in the client, enter it so it writes a save, exit, then upload that .sav. The dedicated server does not expose a full world-settings UI.

Upload a world

1. Open the Blacksmith Portal and stop the Dragonwilds server
2. Open Backups and create a backup
3. Open Files and go to RSDragonwilds/Saved/SaveGames
4. Delete the .sav files inside that folder. Leave the folder itself in place
5. Upload your local .sav with the file manager, or use SFTP
6. If the browser upload fails, zip the save, upload the zip, then right-click → Unarchive. See Large File Uploads Fail in the File Manager
7. Confirm only the world you want remains in SaveGames
8. Start the server. It loads the latest .sav in that folder

Reset to a fresh world

This wipes the current .sav files only. It is not a full egg reinstall.

1. Stop the server
2. Create a panel backup
3. Delete the .sav files in RSDragonwilds/Saved/SaveGames. Do not delete the folder
4. Optionally stop the server and set a new Default World Name on Startup or in DedicatedServer.ini if you want a different name for the world Jagex will create
5. Start the server. With an empty save folder it creates a new Standard world

Use Settings → Reinstall Server only when you want a clean install of the dedicated-server files. That is more than a world reset. Back up first either way.

I uploaded my save and still load the default world

The default .sav was still in the folder and was newer, or the server was running during the upload. Empty SaveGames, leave a single .sav, then start.

Can I keep several .sav files and pick one with Default World Name?

No. The process loads the latest file. Keep only the world you want to run. Store extras in a backup or another folder outside SaveGames.

Should I reinstall to start over?

No. Delete the .sav files as above. Reinstall when you need a clean dedicated-server egg, not to roll a new world.
