How do I change the world seed on my Return to Moria server?

Return to Moria uses world seeds to randomize mine layouts and resource placement. Setting a specific seed lets your group play on the same map, or recreate a world you enjoyed in single-player.

To find a seed in-game, press Esc and look in the top-left corner of the menu.

Using Blacksmith’s Portal

1. Open the Blacksmith’s Portal
2. Stop your server
3. Go to Startup
4. Change Seed from random to your desired world seed
5. Enter a new World Name so the server generates a fresh world with the new seed
6. Start your server

Changing the seed always creates a new world. Use a new World Name to avoid overwriting an existing save.

Self-Hosting/Other Providers

1. Stop your Return to Moria server
2. Open MoriaServerConfig.ini
3. Under [World.Create], change Seed= from random to your desired world seed
4. Under [World], change Name= to a new world name
5. Save the file and restart the server
