How to reset your ECO world

Resetting your Eco world deletes the current map and all progress on it: buildings, inventories, skills, the economy, laws, and government. Use this after the meteor has hit (or been stopped), when you change settings that only apply at world generation, or when you want a clean slate.

  1. Open the AleForge Panel and select your Eco server
  2. Stop the server on Console
  3. Open Backups and create a backup

You can also schedule automatic backups. If you run a community server, give players warning before the wipe.

This wipes world and player data but keeps your configs, mods, and admin list.

  1. Confirm the server is stopped
  2. Open File Manager
  3. Open the Storage folder
  4. Select everything inside Storage and delete it. Leave the Storage folder itself in place — it just needs to be empty.
  5. Optional: change world generation settings now, before you start the server. World size, terrain, and meteor timing only apply when Eco generates a new world. Edit Configs/WorldGenerator.eco or Configs/Difficulty.eco, or follow How to change the size of your ECO server.
  6. Start the server from Console

Eco sees the empty Storage folder and generates a new world. The first start after a reset takes longer than usual — a few minutes for a small world, and longer for a 200×200 map.

Deleted files stay in the panel recycle bin for 24 hours.

To remove configs, mods, and all world data and reinstall from scratch, follow How do I wipe my server and start from scratch?. That is only needed if files are corrupted or you want a completely clean install. After a full wipe you will need to set up configs again and reinstall any mods.
