How do I connect to my Return to Moria server?
This guide walks you through connecting to your Return to Moria dedicated server hosted on AleForge.
Return to Moria supports crossplay: players on Steam, Epic Games, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S can join the same dedicated server. There is no limit on total players registered to a server, but only 8 players can be connected at the same time.
Connecting to your Return to Moria server
Section titled “Connecting to your Return to Moria server”Using a join code (AleForge)
Section titled “Using a join code (AleForge)”- Open the Blacksmith’s Portal
- Start your server
- From the
Dashboard, copy the Join Code if one is displayed - Launch Return to Moria
- Click
Play, select a character, then clickJoin Other World - Paste the join code and click the search icon
- Click
Join Server
Direct connect with IP and port (AleForge)
Section titled “Direct connect with IP and port (AleForge)”- Open the Blacksmith’s Portal
- Start your server
- From the
Dashboard, take note of the IP and port, e.g.192.168.15.142:12345 - Launch Return to Moria
- Click
Play, select a character, then clickJoin Other World - Click
Advanced Join Options - Enter the hostname and port
- Enter your server password if one is set
- Click
Join Server
Your server will appear in the Session History menu for quick reconnection. Session history is stored per player on their local game client, it is not a server-side setting.
You will now be connected to your Return to Moria server!
Self-Hosting/Other Providers
Section titled “Self-Hosting/Other Providers”- Acquire the hostname and port from your provider.
- If you’re self-hosting, you’ll need to grab the IP address of your server and use the port you opened on your router
- Open Return to Moria
- Click
Join Other World - Click
Advanced Join Options - Enter the hostname and port
- Enter your server password if one is configured
- Click
Join Server
You will now be connected to your Return to Moria server!
