How to Reset Your 7 Days to Die Server World
There are two different “resets” people ask for: loading a new world while keeping old files, or wiping the entire server. Pick the one you actually need.
Start a new world (keeps old saves on disk)
Section titled “Start a new world (keeps old saves on disk)”Use this after removing mods, when a save will not load, or when you want a fresh Navezgane or RWG run without deleting backups.
- Open the AleForge Panel
- Stop the server on
Console - Go to
Startup - Change
World Nameto something you have not used before - Save and start the server
The server generates or loads a save under that new name. Your previous world remains in .local/share/7DaysToDie/Saves/ until you delete it manually.
To go back to an older world, stop the server, set World Name to the old value, and start again — as long as the same mods and map settings still apply.
Changing World Name on an existing save does not fix a broken world. If the save was built with mods you removed, you need a new name and those mods gone (or restored). See Troubleshooting.
Delete a specific save only
Section titled “Delete a specific save only”- Stop the server
- Open
File Manager - Go to
.local/share/7DaysToDie/Saves/ - Delete the folder for the world you no longer want
- Set
World NameonStartupto a new name and start the server
Create a backup first if there is any chance you will want that save again.
Full server wipe
Section titled “Full server wipe”To remove configs, mods, and all world data and reinstall from scratch:
- Stop the server
- Follow How do I wipe my server and start from scratch?
That is the nuclear option. Use the new World Name method above if you only need a clean map.
