How to Update Your Avorion Server

Keep your Avorion server on the latest version so players with an updated Steam client can connect.

Update the Server

Open the AleForge Panel
Stop the server
Create a backup from the Backups tab
Open Settings and click Reinstall Server
Wait for the reinstall to finish
Start the server

AleForge uses a soft reinstall. It updates game files from the install but does not remove your galaxy saves, mods, or custom configuration in your galaxy folder.

After Updating

Ask players to update Avorion in Steam before joining
If mods fail after an update, verify modconfig.lua and restart the server
If players cannot connect after a game patch, see Avorion Server Not Showing or Unable to Connect
