How do I update my Valheim server?

When Valheim updates, you’ll need to update it on the server. We’ll show you how.

1. Go to the Blacksmith’s Portal
2. Go to Backups and make a backup
3. Restart your server

The server will automatically download the update and apply it to your server.

Troubleshooting

If you have issues with updating your Valheim server, there are a few things you can check.

1. Go to Startup on the Blacksmith’s Portal and ensure Auto Update is turned on
2. Clear the Steam update cache
3. If all else fails, contact support.
