How do I use my own world with my Craftopia server?

Want to keep playing a world you already built? This guide shows you how to upload your own Craftopia world to your AleForge server and set the server to load it.

  • Access to the AleForge Panel
  • Your Craftopia world files on your computer
  • The name of your world, exactly as it appears in the game

Tip: Always stop your server before uploading world files or changing startup settings, so your world isn’t overwritten or corrupted.

On Windows, Craftopia stores your saves in one of these folders, depending on your game version:

Save format Default location
Current (PPSave) C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\LocalLow\PocketPair\Craftopia\PPSave
Older (save) C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\LocalLow\PocketPair\Craftopia\save

Worlds created since the Seamless update are stored in PPSave, so check there first. If your world isn’t there, look in the older save folder.

Open the Worlds folder inside the save folder and find the file for the world you want to use. If you have more than one world, make sure you pick the right one, and upload only the world you want the server to load.

  1. Go to the AleForge Panel and select your Craftopia server.

  2. Open the Console and stop your server.

  3. Open the Files tab (File Manager).

  4. Go to the server’s worlds folder:

    /home/container/DedicatedServerSave/Worlds
  5. Drag and drop your world file from your computer into this folder.

The world must be placed in the DedicatedServerSave/Worlds folder. If it is uploaded anywhere else, the server won’t find it and will start a new world instead.

  1. Open the Startup tab.
  2. Change World Name to match your uploaded world.
  3. Go back to the Console page and start your server.

The World Name must match your world’s name exactly. If it doesn’t, the server creates a new world instead of loading yours. The name must also not include any special characters.

  1. Open File Manager in the panel.
  2. Rename the world file using only letters and numbers.
  3. Enter the same simple name in World Name on the Startup tab.

After the server starts, watch the Console for startup errors, then join the server and confirm your buildings and progress are there. If you see a brand new world, go to the troubleshooting section below.

Problem What to try
Server starts a new world instead of yours Check that World Name on the Startup tab matches your world’s name exactly, and that the file is in DedicatedServerSave/Worlds.
Server fails to load the world Remove any special characters from the world name and try again.
More than one world in the folder Upload only the world you want, and make sure World Name points to it.
Can’t find your world on your PC Look in the PPSave folder first, then in the older save folder.
Changes didn’t apply Make sure the server was stopped before you made changes, then start it again.
