How to Upload Your Galaxy to Your Avorion Server

Uploading an existing Avorion galaxy lets you move a local or previously hosted world onto your AleForge server.

Find Your Local Galaxy Files

On Windows, single-player and locally hosted galaxies are usually stored at:

%AppData%\Avorion\galaxies\<GalaxyName>\

Each galaxy is a folder containing save data, sector files, and configuration files. Upload the entire galaxy folder contents, not just a single file.

Upload to Your AleForge Server

1. Stop your Avorion server in the AleForge Panel
2. Open File Manager
3. Go to galaxy/<GalaxyName>/ (create the folder first if needed, or match the name you plan to use)
4. Upload your local galaxy files into that folder
5. Go to Startup and set Galaxy Name to match the folder name you uploaded to
6. If you uploaded Workshop mods, make sure modconfig.lua is included or recreate it — see How to install Mods
7. Start the server

Switching Between Uploaded Galaxies

To use a different uploaded galaxy, change Galaxy Name on the Startup tab to the other folder name and restart the server. See How to Reset Your Avorion Server for more about managing multiple galaxies.

Tips

• Create a backup in the Backups tab before overwriting an existing galaxy
• Large galaxies can take several minutes to upload depending on file size
• All players should use the same mod list as the uploaded galaxy
