How do I set my RuneScape: Dragonwilds server to private?

A World Password is how you make a Dragonwilds dedicated server private. Players still find the world on the Public tab, then type the password to enter. Leave the field empty if anyone should be able to join.

This is not the admin password. Dragonwilds has no Vintage Story-style whitelist.

Caution

Stop the server before you change World Password. Jagex discards config written while the process is running.

Set World Password

1. Open the Blacksmith Portal and select your Dragonwilds server
2. Click Stop
3. Open Startup and set World Password if that field is listed
4. Or open Files → Config Files, edit DedicatedServer.ini, and set WorldPassword=. Use an empty value for public. Steps: How do I Edit My Servers Config Files
5. Save, then start the server

On disk: RSDragonwilds/Saved/Config/Linux/DedicatedServer.ini or .../LinuxServer/DedicatedServer.ini.

The dedicated-server WorldPassword overrides any password stored inside the .sav. Changing Default World Name does not toggle privacy.

Join a private world

1. Search the loaded world name on the Public tab
2. Enter the world
3. Type the world password when prompted

Share the world name and the world password with your group. Do not send them the admin password unless they should moderate.

Make it public again

1. Stop the server
2. Clear World Password on Startup or set WorldPassword= with nothing after the equals sign
3. Start the server

Will a world password hide us from Public?

No. It only gates who can enter after they find the world.

I set a password and friends still get in without it

Confirm the server was stopped when you saved, then restart. If an old password was only stored in the save, the dedicated-server WorldPassword value wins after a clean boot.
