How to Change Your Avorion Server Name and MOTD

Your Avorion server name is what players search for in the multiplayer browser. The message of the day (MOTD) can greet players when they connect.

Change the Server Name

Open the AleForge Panel
Stop the server
Go to Startup
Edit Server Name to the name you want shown in the server list
Start the server

Pick a unique name so players can find your server quickly with the in-game search filter. See How do I connect to my Avorion Server?.

Change the MOTD

Stop the server
Go to Startup
Look for the MOTD or server description field (if available in your install)
Enter the message you want players to see
Start the server

If your server build does not expose a MOTD field on Startup, you can set the description in your galaxy configuration files under galaxy/<GalaxyName>/.
